Less than a week remains until the 2024 NFL Draft, and it promises to be historic. Notably, there's anticipation for the first defensive player to be chosen unusually late in the round. Additionally, the draft might see a record equaled with six quarterbacks possibly selected on opening night, including Oregon's Bo Nix, who stands on the cusp of being a first-round pick.

Nix's collegiate journey, transitioning from Auburn to Oregon in 2022, saw a remarkable surge in performance. He showcased impressive statistics, setting records for passing yards, touchdowns, and completion percentage. His tenure at Oregon was historic, earning him a place among a select few quarterbacks in the last two decades to achieve significant passing and rushing milestones.

Ahead of the draft, Nix discussed his prospects with CBS Sports in a Q&A session. He highlighted the significance of his extensive college experience, emphasizing its role in his readiness for the NFL. Nix expressed a desire to join the right team rather than solely focusing on being a first-round pick. He also emphasized his passion for teamwork and his commitment to continual improvement, acknowledging areas of his game that warrant refinement.

When asked about an NFL comparison, Nix cited qualities from several quarterbacks, including Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford, and Joe Burrow, aiming to integrate their strengths into his own game.

Reflecting on his collaboration with USAA, Nix recounted a memorable visit to the Selfridge Air National Guard Base with Joe Alt, expressing gratitude for the experience facilitated by USAA's partnership.
